SSRS

Sjöräddningssällskapet (SSRS) is Sweden’s volunteer-based lifesaving organization dedicated to maritime rescue. They operate along the Swedish coastline and major lakes, responding to emergencies, preventing accidents, and helping people in distress at sea.

We collaborated with SSRS to create a visually powerful and authentic film that captures what their rescue work truly looks and feels like. To achieve this, we filmed directly in rough waters and heavy winds, in the same conditions their crews face every day. We were able to shoot dynamic and immersive footage from both above and below the surface.

Behind the scenes

When shooting in rough water and heavy wind it´s good the have the right gear and people around. With our underwater camera housing in place, dry suits on and the professional and happy crew from SSRS holding us in place it was "camera, take, action"...and yes, it could happen that we made the coloring in the final video more dramatic.
